Food Services
On-campus food services are available in two locations: Cafe 780 and the Junction. Cafe 780 is located in the Student Union building and the Junction is located in the lobby of the Administration Building.
Food services are provided by Metz Culinary Management of Dallas, PA. The vast menu consists of daily specials, made to order burgers, wraps, subs, hand tossed pizzas, desserts, and a soup and salad bar.
Café 780:
Hours: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- The salad bar area in Café 780 will be stocked with Chef Fresh items to accommodate less contact and faster access to items.
- The Café 780 servery has a maximum occupancy of five customers, with an additional two customers at the cash register. Signage will display reminders and indicate occupancy. Metz staff members will also monitor occupancy levels and encourage campus community members to wait outside the area, as needed and in a social-distanced fashion.
- All major credit cards, debit cards, Lion Cash+ and Commuter Meal Plans will be accepted. Cash transactions are suspended.
The Junction:
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- The Junction will determine distance guidelines for those waiting to order and/or pick-up items.
- A designated pick-up area will be added to allow for additional distancing.
- All major credit cards, debit cards, Lion Cash+ and Commuter Meal Plans will be accepted. Cash transactions are suspended.
Off-campus Housing
The Office of Student Affairs provides assistance to students seeking off-campus housing accommodations. Since Penn State New Kensington does not have University-owned housing, the Office of Student Affairs can connect you with third-party vendors that provide nearby housing. Options include the Nittany Highlands Apartments, a privately-owned complex adjacent to campus and rented only to campus students.
Due to our close proximity to Pittsburgh, students have plenty of housing options to consider. Students choosing to live off-campus should plan to have reliable transportation to and from campus.
